New Ferry Control System

In June 2006 RE was proud to take part in the commissioning of a new High Speed Ferry for the route between Sweden and Gotland. The vessel was built by Fincantieri for its owners Rederi AB Gotland.

One of the features that makes this vessel special is that it is the first application of the of the new MAN B&W Diesel Ltd RK280 engine. These are the most powerful 1000 rpm diesel engines in the world.

Regulateurs Europa played a significant part in this development. Designing and building an integrated control and monitoring system for these electronically fuel injected engines.  Part of the work involved the submission of the control software to Lloyds Register for which a Software Conformity Certificate was awarded.

The control and monitoring equipment has been tailored to the engine and includes a comprehensive pre-made cabling system.

technical datasheets (on our products page) to assist you with a specific project you may be working on.

Easily accessed through the PRODUCTS section of the website, the datasheets are organised according to product type, ie Actuators, Governors and Viking products. By simply running the cursor over the datasheets you are also able to view a product image prior to opening up the PDF.

Each datasheet consists of a technical overview, specific product features, detailed specification and RE contact details.
